CHUTES
Appleton Steel Hoof trimming chutes - facts and information

  • All of our new Hoof Trimming Chutes have a limited one year warranty.
  • Our hoof trimming chutes use hydraulic high position tear drops that protect the trimmer from the kicking rear legs of the cow, a great safety feature.
  • The hydraulic hoof trimming chutes elevate with a positive hydraulic chain to assist up and down motion. This stops any tilting or unstable lifting and allows you to easily setup on uneven ground.
  • The chutes utilize a torsion bar axle which eliminates wheel misalignment.
  • Our chutes use Parker hydraulic pumps, hoses and fittings. Parker is the leading hydraulic supplier in the world. Service is readily available worldwide.
  • Our front leg lifts are unique to the industry. They clamp on and lift the hoof and leg, of the cow, in a natural motion, keeping the trimmer away from the foot. One more great safety feature.
  • There are two large storage cabinets available for the ease and convenience of storing all of the trimmer's supplies
  • Our chutes use a rear come-along system that moves the cow from the back of the chute to the front. It adapts to any size cow.
  • The chutes are built on high strength steel frames with a low-center of gravity.
  • Our chutes are equipped with a lightweight roofing system with shades that pull-out to protect the trimmer from the weather.
  • Chutes weight approximately 4300 lbs. and are 12 1/2 feet long with the hitch removed. They come with a dolly wheel for easy and convenient setup - even without a pickup. They use a Parker Hydraulic piston pump and 1 horse watt-saver motor that uses 4 amps of power with a belt-drive for quiet operation.
  • We use a piston-style accumulator that stores hydraulic pressure for quick movement of hydraulics, allowing storage of hydraulic pressure for loading and unloading of the chute without having to plug into a power source.
  • Our user-friendly equipment allows for quick setup and tear down - usually 5-10 minutes.
